Memetic mutation

I know my past few posts have been either depressing or just very serious, and I would like to apologize. Instead of apologizing, however, I am just going to make an entirely different post.
One on the subject of memes. Or, more specifically, webmemes (because internet memes sounds archaic, said by the kind of people who say “internet sites”). I consider myself to be a child of “the interwebz”, as us younguns like to call it. The internet is a strange thing. As Arthur C Clarke said in the sixties: “In the future, perhaps in 50 years’ time, the whole world will have shrunk to a point through social media”. Oh, how right he was. The internet is a place where everyone is in contact with anyone in an instant (or in about 10 minutes of excruciating loading time).

It's the end of the world as we know it
I think we're getting to the end of the civilization. Not our civilization. Drop the possessive. You see, throughout history we've seen great civilizations rise and fall, but you could always tell whose they were. Roman empires, Mongolian ones, etc... They often crashed for different reasons
But now we have the world as it is today, and I can only describe it as the Capitalist Empire. Doomed to fall. Integrated, woven throughout every aspect of our lives, the very foundations. And it's rotting.

About nothing
Well... nothing in particular. I'm going to start of by apologizing for the fact that many of the pictures I posted before have been removed. They were good, hard-working pictures and it saddens me to see them go. Second, I'd like to apologize for my grammar. In earlier posts I've often forgotten commas (and on one occasion placed one too early. It's icky) and made grammatically incorrect sentences, usually through wrongful use of idioms. My vocabulary is not, I think, lacking.

Screenplay/Screentime/Playtime
I like meta. It's awesome. Like the Von-Neumann machine in Storm (It's a sci-fi comic that generally takes itself seriously (not the characters, but itself)). And then there's the story arch that turns out to be the shooting of a movie called "The Von-Neumann Machine", directed by the artist, screenplay by the author. It's... unsettling. But awesome.

Gangway!
There are several ways of traversing through crowds. It depends on the crowd. Say you want to get on a train, but everyone is getting off the train and walking towards the station. There's a stampede coming your way (albeit one moving at a glacial pace, but still), and there's few ways you can go forward without taking the occasional step backward or elbow to the nose.
So here's my tip on how to safely and easily split the crowd all moses-like.
Requirements: either a large or broad posture, a leather jacket or Ron Pearlman's head.
The trick is to walk forward, and will the bastards to step aside. Do not at any point make eye contact. That would lead to a game of chicken. Stare at a point on the floor about 15 meters in front of you. Unless you meet a bunch of first-graders, you won't make eye-contact once. You have to give the impression that you are going the other way, regardless of what might be in your way. You're a force of, if not nature, then at least of heavy steam-powered machinery. People will generally swerve out of the way.
Added bonus: you might be a prick for doing so, but you'll feel awesome as heck. Plus, you can always swerve when others refuse to.
ANFSCD:
A bit of a wtf, and I need some help decyphering a piece of code. The code is human interaction, of which I get less than I thought.
Here's the situation:
- Someone I know makes coffee.
- They offer me coffee.
- I say no, but thanks anyway.
So far so good, right?
- Looks at me as if I made a fart joke. "Oh, you!"
Now what the hell happened here? Is there a rule that you don't reject coffee? I mumbled some stuff about being bad at getting jokes and scurried off. It was the weirdest conversation I've had in a while.

Babel
Because that sounds way better than pyramid.
Anyway: today/night sketches will follow. I realized yesterday that the description is ... lacking.

On seeing the world as it really isn't.
There are many ways of looking at the world. People have been murdering each other over it for hundreds of years, in fact. Murder, after all, is the best way to decide if not who is right, then at least who is left.

The building formerly known as pyramid
It's been ages. I know. shhh.
So anyway, I've been thinking and rethinking the pyramid. If you don't know what that is, clicky the tags.

The rise and fall of the Modern Warfare 2 Economy
Back in 2009, a game was released upon the market. It was the successor to one of the most popular gaming titles of all time, and the next in a long line of popular titles: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
