The first games I played were Warcraft II and Red Alert, both RTS games giving me command over an army of faceless, nameless soldiers, trying to beat another army of faceless nameless soldiers into pulp. However, as long as I was presented with a reason why, I enjoyed doing so.<br />Another game I GREATLY enjoyed for many years was Spellforce. Granted, the gameplay is a bit basic, but the storyline is so good -especially of the first one- you just wanted to go on and the twist at the very end (spoiler: it involves timetravel, but does so really, really well) made my inner writer writhe with ecstasy. <br /><br />It is why I enjoy good RPGs so much. A game that allows me to create my own character, develop their own personality, and be part of a story that is in most cases epic, well, as Tycho from Penny Arcade once put it: "It's the closest thing I'll get to giving birth".Helenanoreply@blogger.com
